i tell stories is a weblog by me, Sameer Vasta, a storyteller and new media consultant in Toronto, Canada.

Telling stories here…

This site is where you’ll find my writing about technology, pop culture, urban living, film, design, and all sorts of other interesting things that pass my way.

I also blog at Squandrous, blogTO, Metronauts, and Easily Smitten, and share some of my reading on Google Reader. You can also find me on Flickr, Twitter, LinkedIn, Last.fm, GigPark, Upcoming, Vimeo, and of course, Facebook.

The archives are available by category and month if you’re looking for something in particular. There’s also a little list of my favorite posts on the archives page as well, if you’re unsure where to start.

The best way to keep up with this site — other than visiting it, of course — is to subscribe to the RSS feed. (If you really want to know about everything I do on the web, check out my Friendfeed.)

This design was adapted with permission from Andre Torrez’s site and was converted to a Wordpress theme by Long Nguyen. (I played and tinkered with the code a bit too, so if anything breaks, I’m sorry.) This design also uses the Silk icon set and is hosted by A Small Orange, who have some of the best customer support I’ve ever experienced from any hosting company.

…and telling stories elsewhere.

When I’m not playing around on this site, I’m helping organizations use the web to get their heard by the people that need to hear them most. I studied social anthropology, have a background in strategic communications and online community engagement, and have experience in web editing and content development.

Some of the people I’ve had the pleasure to work with include:

Other than work, I play and watch football (go Jets!), use a Mac, sing jazz and r&b, enjoy spoken word, and watch a lot of movies. I travel a bit, so check out my Dopplr profile to find out where I’ll be next.

If you still have questions or want to find out more about what I do, send me a twitter or an email. Thanks for stopping by.
